Job Overview
As an Accounting & Tax Associate at Bestar Hong Kong, you will play a central role in delivering financial clarity and strict statutory compliance for a diverse portfolio of local and international clients. This role bridges technical execution with modern, forward-thinking accounting practices. Working closely with our seniors and managers, you will manage full sets of accounts, assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements, and handle Hong Kong tax compliance.

Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Full Sets of Accounts: Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions with high precision.
- Financial Statement Preparation: Assist in preparing monthly management reports, bank reconciliations, and annual statutory financial statements in compliance with the Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards (HKFRSs) and the Hong Kong Companies Ordinance.
- Audit Readiness: Organize, verify, and reconcile primary financial documents (invoices, receipts, bank statements) to support senior team members and external auditors during year-end audit processes.
2. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Tax Filing Support: Assist in the preparation of corporate profits tax computations, Profits Tax Returns (PTR), and Individual Income Tax filings for clients.
- Regulatory Liaison: Help handle standard inquiries from the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) and ensure all deadlines for tax and statutory submissions are met to prevent penalties.
- Employer Compliance: Support payroll outsourcing functions, including monthly salary processing and Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) contribution reporting.
3. Digital Transformation & Operations
- Cloud-First Workflow: Actively utilize modern cloud-based accounting platforms (such as Xero or QuickBooks) and automated tools to drive efficiency, moving away from manual data entry.
- Portfolio Management: Maintain systemized, highly secure digital documentation and corporate files in full compliance with local anti-money laundering (AML) and corporate governance rules.
What We Are Looking ForEducation & Accreditations
- Degree: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional Track: Actively pursuing or planning to pursue a professional accounting qualification (e.g., HKICPA, ACCA, CPA Australia, or equivalent) is highly encouraged and supported.
Skills & Experience
- Experience: 0–2 years of experience within a professional services or CPA firm. High-caliber fresh graduates with strong learning agility will also be considered.
- Technical Edge: Proficiency in MS Excel (vlookup, pivot tables) and familiarity with cloud accounting applications (Xero/QuickBooks) is a distinct advantage.
- Language Proficiency: Strong communication skills are essential. Fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) is required to seamlessly serve local and cross-border clients.
