PRIMARY PURPOSE: Lead and overseas new product launch activities for BiPass connectors and cables, ensuring successful transition from development to mass production.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- New product launch for BiPass connectors and cables.
o Lead engineering team to execute new product development that handed off from overseas PDE team
o Review and perform FSV/DVP testing, track validation progress, and ensure timely issue resolution.
o Provide technical guidance on troubleshooting, RCA, and corrective actions for design, material, and process issues.
o Drive cross-functional alignment with PDE, DPE, AQP, procurement, and manufacturing teams.
o Overseas FMEA risk assessments and ensure proper mitigation actions are implemented.
o Ensure accuracy and compliance of engineering documentation, ECR/ECO changes.
o Monitor sample build quality, yield, and readiness for mass production.
o Develop team capability through coaching, training, and performance feedback.
o Complete additional tasks assigned by supervisor.
SCOPE: Responsible for supervising product development that handed off from overseas, e.g. NPI project deliverables, risks, and validation activities are completed on time and meet production readiness requirements.
EDUCATION:
REQUIRED: Bachelor degree or above
PREFERRED: Major in mechanical design and manufacturing, or equivalent.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED: 8+ years of product development experience, including 2+ years of connector design experience
PREFERRED: 2+ years of experience managing or supervising engineering teams
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
REQUIRED:
- Good communication skills, including proficient spoken and written English.
- Solid understanding of NPI processes and manufacturing methods (stamping, injection molding, die casting).
- Strong problem solving ability and capable of guiding engineers through RCA and issue resolution.
- Ability to review and approve engineering documents, drawings, and validation plans.
- Proficient in engineering tools such as NX and Creo.
- Detail oriented, proactive, and able to drive cross functional alignment.
- PREFERRED: Knowledge of process capability validation (Cpk/Ppk, GR&R).
- Manufacturing process experience, including tooling/process qualification.
