Introduction
We are looking for a Sourcing Manager to join Consumables Procurement China. In this role, you will manage and develop China procurement for assigned product categories, covering sourcing and technical qualification activities to support supply availability, competitiveness, and quality. You will report to the Director, Consumables Procurement China.
Team you will belong to
You will join Consumables Procurement team and work with the Consumables procurement organization and interface with operations planning, manufacturing development, country teams, product lines, other business areas, internal manufacturing units, and suppliers.
What you’ll do
Manages procurement in China in a cost and performance effective manner.
Monitor market trends, cost drivers, and new technology developments.
Through close collaboration with PL prepare an all-encompassing procurement strategy for Consumables in China.
Work closely with internal stakeholders (R&D, production, quality, plant buyers) on new product sourcing and supplier technical issues.
Manages a continuous improvement program regarding external suppliers. Benchmarks total cost and performance.
Negotiate with vendors and suppliers of agreed materials for cost reductions and delivery schedules utilizing initiatives such as consignment stock agreements etc.
Manages and optimizes supplier distribution and logistics.
Manages global commercial and legal compliance to Metso standards, policies and procedures.
Manages global supplier base and implement appropriate KPI’s (product lead-time, quality levels, delivery accuracy level).
Ensures vendors protect Metso confidential information through preparing contract agreements.
Travel required locally up to 50% of time annually.
What you’ll bring
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field.
Background in a mechanical manufacturing & engineering environment is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience with strong negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
Strong analytical skills. A bias for action and detail-oriented behaviors are required.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
A high level of computer skills is essential – Excel, Word, Power Point etc.
Strong financial performance: optimized supplier costs and performance results. Cost and performance vs. industry standards and competitors.
Highly motivated individual with the ability to work under stress and meet the deadlines.
Strong communication skills in English.
Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
Must be capable of effectively and accurately working on several projects at one time, and organizing, prioritizing tasks and working in a fast paced environment. Strong communication, co-operation, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Ability to travel frequently.
