The role is responsible for the management of branch operations in Central China with profit and loss accountability for air and ocean freight operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Central China branch operations across freight forwarding and contract logistics, ensuring service quality, productivity, compliance and profitability.
- Manage branch profit and loss, operational budgets, KPIs, performance dashboards and management reporting.
- Develop and implement local freight and contract logistics strategies, including carrier selection, procurement, market penetration and customer development plans.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, agents, overseas group offices and internal stakeholders.
- Negotiate rates, pricing and service arrangements with carriers, vendors and agents to support competitive and sustainable solutions.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving operational issues, monitoring service performance and driving continuous improvement.
- Establish and maintain operational processes aligned with global and regional standards, regulatory requirements and internal compliance guidelines.
- Support air and ocean freight bids, pricing strategy, proposal preparation and customer presentations in partnership with sales teams.
- Drive productivity improvements, operational excellence and freight or warehouse system digitalisation initiatives.
- Lead, coach and develop team members, supporting employee growth, succession planning and a strong service culture.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Supply Chain Management or relevant qualifications
- 12 to 15 years' experience in Freight Forwarding or Logistics Industry
- Good knowledge of pricing for freight operations, customs and international trade legislation compliance
- Knowledge of Cargowise, freight management systems and local customs and trade portals
- Good service orientation with strong change and people management skills
