Key Responsibilities
-
Assist in the design, simulation, and testing of optical components (e.g., lenses, fibers, connectors, WDM modules, etc.).
-
Support optical system experiments, including setup, alignment, and data collection.
-
Participate in optical performance testing and analysis (e.g., insertion loss, return loss, optical power, wavelength performance).
-
Help document test results, prepare technical reports, and contribute to design reviews.
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, firmware) to support product development.
-
Maintain lab equipment and ensure proper usage and calibration where required.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's or Master's student in Optics, Photonics, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related fields.
-
Basic understanding of optical principles (e.g., geometrical optics, fiber optics, wave optics).
-
Familiarity with optical testing equipment (e.g., optical power meter, oscilloscope, OSA) is a plus.
-
Experience with optical simulation tools (e.g., Zemax, LightTools, or equivalent) is preferred.
-
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
-
Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
-
Proficiency in English reading/writing for technical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Exposure to optical communication systems (e.g., DWDM/WDM, transceivers, modules).
-
Basic programming skills (Python, MATLAB, or similar) for data analysis.
-
Internship or project experience in optics/photonics is a plus.
What You'll Gain
-
Hands-on experience in real-world optical product development.
-
Mentorship from experienced optical engineers.
-
Exposure to cutting-edge optical communication technologies.
