EHS Specialist

Responsibilities:

Ensure implementation of EHS programs and procedures which are in line with GE Vernova and local regulation requirements on EHS management.

Ensure the robust key EHS Framework elements (like Fire Prevention/SRA/High Risk operations/Lockout Tagout/Contractor Safety etc.) control systems in place effectively

Coordinate with production and engineering professionals on the introduction or modification and engineering process, track and report on conditions to site EHS manager.

Reinforce the regular supervisor scorecard review mechanism and provide related metrics at site safety committee

Ensure all site personnel are provided with adequate safety training with necessary certificates required by GE Vernova and local authorities.

Coordinate Injury & Illness cases investigation and monitor programs for reduction of injury rate. Accident Reporting, Investigation and follow up.

Drive inspections and housekeeping program, ensure findings identified, tracked and closed within business timeframe.

Proactively lead and engaged in EHS improvement projects for major safety mitigation tasks (e.g. machine guarding, fall protection, lifting safety, noise control, fume exhaust collection, confine space entry controls)

Requirement:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental or Occupational Safety and health field or equivalent EHS experience.
3+ years’ experience in heavy manufacturing (welding, machining, Painting) preferred
Good oral and written English skills
Adequate dedicated time on the shop floor, ability to communicate with operators
Demonstrated leadership skills to make and accelerate changes in safe manner and embrace positive safety culture
Problem solving skills - able to lead team to determine root cause and develop practical solutions
Willing to immediately stop production and/or any unsafe acts witnessed on site
Openness in reporting issues and encouraging others to report
Perform other duties as assigned by EHS manager
