Savoury Creation and Application Head - Your Future Position?
As Savoury Creation and Application Head in our Taste & Wellbeing Division, you will assist technical director to be responsible for developing and managing a high-performing team dedicated to delivering innovative solutions to meet the diverse needs of our customers. This role involves leading the team to deliver exceptional results while collaborating closely with cross-functions to ensure alignment with business objectives. Under co-leadership with Sales and Marketing, the Technical Sub-Team leader will drive new revenue opportunities through strategic initiatives, project management and resource periodization. By fostering a culture of creativity and technical excellence, this role will ensure our leading position in the industry, and our solutions not only meet but exceed customer expectations, significantly contributing to the overall growth and success of the organization.
In this exciting role you will
1. People Development & Sub Team Management

Continuously improve the team efficiency and agility to support growing and evolving business priorities;

Develop self and team as recognized technical experts to internal and external stakeholders;

Coach, train, support, and motivate staff to achieve optimal performance as individuals and build an effective team.
2. Internal Projects & Resource Allocation

Manage the commercial project pipeline; ensure on-time and high-quality management of projects from screening to close;

Deliver the required New Win Revenue;

Budget/plan for training, equipment, and expenses;

Participate in local and regional business review and planning activities.
3. Strategy, Innovation & Technical Excellence

Ensure Givaudan systems and reporting standards are maintained for all project and non-project activity;

Ensure varied and complex technical procedures to develop finished applications are carried out and evaluated to the highest standards;

Oversee flavour creation and ensure flawless execution from Brief to Bench to Batch (3B process) in line with Givaudan policy;

Define and maintain competitive flavour collections for the category, and ensure recommendation of appropriate flavour and technologies for customer projects;

Develop effective network and liaise with Givaudan colleagues on key projects in China and internationally;

Liaise with marketing team to develop consumer and sensory understanding, and participate in research download, ideation, and translation workshops;

Generate new applications and product concepts;

Maintain optimal laboratory operational safety, hygiene, and protection, ensuring compliance with Givaudan policies;

Host customers for training and/or project work at Givaudan Labs or external facilities;

Conduct tasting sessions, concept presentations, and customer training and evaluation sessions;

Support Portfolio in constantly improving the Flavour Collection

Your professional profile includes

More than 10 years’ experience in food and beverage related R&D field, international experience or working with a MNC, Bilingual (English +1);
-
At least 8 years’ managerial experience in food product development or flavour creation, demonstrated people and leadership skills;
-
University degree in Food Science and Technology or related subject;
-
Good business acumen;
-
Formal on-the-job training in flavour applications or creation, design and formulation;
-
Knowledge of general flavour applications and business;
-
Excellent sense of smell and taste and driven by innovation.
