Sales Representative (Singapore & Malaysia) - Baixiang Food Group
Role Overview
The Sales Representative for Singapore and Malaysia is responsible for driving sales growth, managing key accounts, and expanding market reach for Baixiang’s instant noodle products in Southeast Asia. This role requires a deep understanding of regional market dynamics, strong relationship-building skills, and expertise in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) distribution channels.
Key Responsibilities
Market Expansion & Sales Strategy
Develop and execute region-specific sales plans to achieve revenue targets, focusing on supermarket chains, convenience stores, and e-commerce platforms.
Identify new business opportunities and partnerships in Singapore and Malaysia, leveraging local distributors and retailers to enhance product availability.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
Maintain long-term relationships with key clients, including hypermarkets (e.g., Tesco, Aeon) and regional wholesalers, ensuring satisfaction and resolving operational issues.
Collaborate with KA (Key Account) teams to negotiate contracts, optimize shelf placement, and design promotional campaigns tailored to local preferences.
Channel Management & Distribution
Oversee supply chain coordination to ensure timely delivery and inventory balance across urban and rural networks.
Analyze sales data and market trends to adjust strategies, such as pricing and promotions, to stay competitive.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work with marketing teams to adapt global campaigns to local cultures (e.g., incorporating Malay or Chinese festive themes).
Coordinate with logistics teams to address regulatory requirements and customs clearance for cross-border shipments.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; master’s degree preferred but not mandatory.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in FMCG sales, with proven track record in Southeast Asian markets.
Skills & Competencies
Fluency in English; proficiency in Mandarin or Malay is advantageous for client communication.
Strong negotiation and analytical skills, with experience in using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
Familiarity with Singapore’s and Malaysia’s retail landscapes, including halal certification processes for food products.
Personal Attributes
Adaptability to fast-paced environments and cultural diversity.
Willingness to travel frequently within the region.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range
Monthly salary ranges from approximately SGD 8,000 to SGD 13,000 (or equivalent in MYR), commensurate with experience and performance.
