About the Role:
IPS operates a manufacturing facility and R&D center in Jiaxing, China and supports customers across Asia-Pacific. As we continue to expand our presence in China and the wider region, we are seeking a commercially minded professional to identify new opportunities, develop strategic partnerships and help shape the next phase of growth.
The APAC Strategic Growth Manager will identify, evaluate and develop new growth opportunities across China and Asia-Pacific. Approximately 60% of the role focuses on China, with the remaining 40% focused on broader APAC markets.
The role combines market analysis, business development, strategic planning and partnership development. Working closely with regional leadership, the successful candidate will translate market insights into actionable growth initiatives and help drive their execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Growth Strategy & Opportunity Identification
- Identify opportunities across products, applications, customer segments, channels and geographic markets.
- Monitor industry, competitor and market developments across China and APAC.
- Build and maintain a prioritized pipeline of growth opportunities aligned with IPS strategy.
- Market Assessment & Business Planning
- Conduct market sizing, customer analysis and competitive assessments.
- Evaluate market attractiveness, entry barriers and strategic fit.
- Develop business cases, financial assessments and clear Go/No-Go recommendations.
- Recommend market entry and expansion strategies.
- Build robust business cases and drive investment decisions.
- Customer, Channel & Partnership Development
- Engage customers, distributors and industry stakeholders to validate opportunities.
- Identify and assess distribution partners, strategic alliances and collaboration opportunities.
- Support commercial discussions and partnership development.
- Growth Initiative Execution
- Support implementation of approved growth initiatives and market expansion projects.
- Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, Operations, R&D, Finance and Legal teams.
- Track progress, risks and business outcomes.
- Executive Communication
- Prepare concise recommendations for APAC leadership.
- Present market insights and strategic proposals to support decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above. Business, Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or a related discipline is preferred.
- Typically 6-10 years of experience in business development, strategic marketing, product management, market intelligence, corporate strategy, consulting or a related role.
- Experience in adhesives, specialty chemicals, construction materials, industrial manufacturing or a related sector is preferred.
- Proven track record in localizing strategies across diverse cultural and regulatory landscapes in APAC region.
- Exposure to M&A or strategic investment projects is a plus.
- Strong analytical, structured problem-solving and business planning capabilities.
- Ability to convert market insights into actionable commercial opportunities.
- Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
- Comfortable working independently, managing multiple projects and operating in a cross-cultural environment.
- Fluent English for business communication; additional Asian language capability is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, data analysis tools and AI productivity tools.
