The Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for the design, optimization, and technical integrity of the hydrocarbon and utility processing systems onboard our FPSO and FSO vessels. This involves ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable separation, treatment, and handling of oil, gas, water, and associated utilities, from the initial FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) stage through to detailed design, commissioning, and operational support
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for all production and utility systems (e.g., oil separation, gas compression, water injection, produced water treatment).
- Conduct steady-state and dynamic process simulations using specialized software (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus) to define equipment sizing, operating conditions, and ensure system performance meets contract specifications.
- Perform calculations for pressure relief, blowdown, line sizing, and hydraulics.
- Prepare detailed Datasheets and Technical Specifications for major process equipment such as separators, heat exchangers, compressors, pumps, and valves.
- Evaluate technical bids from vendors and participate in technical clarification and selection processes.
- Lead and participate in safety reviews including HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study), SIL (Safety Integrity Level) assessment, LOPA (Layer of Protection Analysis), and technical risk assessments.
- Ensure all designs comply with international codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, NACE) and regulatory requirements for offshore facilities.
- Provide technical support during the EPCIC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, and Commissioning) phases, including review of vendor drawings and technical documents.
- Develop pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures, and assist with start-up activities and performance testing of the processing facilities.
- Support ongoing operational issues, debottlenecking studies, and optimization projects for existing FPSO fleet assets.
- QHSSE responsibilities: Every employee is expected to actively promote a safe and high-quality workplace by taking responsibility for themselves and others, using equipment appropriately, reporting hazards and quality issues promptly, and engaging in continuous improvement efforts.
- Other tasks as requested by the Engineering Manager.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Degree qualified in a technical subject (Chemical Engineering).
- Good use of Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
- Proficient in HYSYS simulation.
- Able to write Technical Reports.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience as a Process Engineer, with significant exposure to the Offshore Oil & Gas industry (FPSO, fixed platforms, or floating units).
- Proven experience in the design and engineering of oil and gas processing facilities, particularly deepwater projects.
- Proven experience of reviewing & commenting on deliverables from contractors.
