Molex is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Opcenter Developer to support the innovation and development of company Opcenter software and programs. Working alongside a team of programmers, you will design, code, test, implement, and support solutions that meet the needs of Molex employees and create a seamless software experience for internal stakeholders.
Our Team
You will work as part of the Molex IT organization, collaborating with your own IT group, other IT departments, business functions, and external contacts to implement new applications and system changes that support manufacturing and business needs.
What You Will Do
- Work as a team member within your own IT group and with other IT departments to implement changes and new applications.
- Evaluate current system capabilities to identify required changes. Recommend improvements to application performance, effectiveness, and maintainability when appropriate .
- Create technical specifications and applications using required programming languages. Notify management and system analysts when requirements cannot be met, recommend modifications or improvements, and communicate changes and enhancements to business functions.
- Perform comprehensive functionality testing of new and updated applications to verify that desired results are achieved. Evaluate test results and coordinate or implement modifications to improve program performance, effectiveness, and maintainability.
- Communicate work direction, assignment status, and issues to management. Collaborate with IT personnel to overcome obstacles and complete programs.
- Write documentation describing program development, logic, coding, and corrections. Assist with the development and maintenance of user manuals as needed.
- Monitor program performance and effectiveness after implementation and provide ongoing support.
- Follow established development methodologies and ensure programs comply with IT department standards and procedures.
- Support solution acceptance testing, including planning, execution, and documentation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- At least 1 year of development experience with Siemens Camstar / Opcenter technologies, including Portal, Designer, CIO, and MIO.
- At least 2 years of development experience using technologies such as .NET, C#, JavaScript, HTML/JSP, HTML5, XML, CSS, XSL, and SQL, including stored procedures and functions.
- Experience with SQL scripting, including stored procedures, functions, tables, and views, and technical knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
- Understanding of system integration methodologies involving SAP, Opcenter APS ( Preactor ), equipment control systems, and metrology systems.
- Technical understanding of manufacturing technologies such as controls/PLC, OPC, SCADA, and historians.
- Understanding of Product Development Quality Assurance (PDQ) methodology and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including tools such as Jira and GitLab.
- Experience supporting manufacturing and IT solutions.
- Demonstrated logical thinking, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills, with the ability to complete assignments systematically and on time.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with co-workers and external contacts to achieve common goals and respond constructively to changing situations.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Familiarity with the Mobility Framework and Angular.
- Familiarity with the Playwright automated testing tool.
- Familiarity with Telegraf, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery/deployment (CI/CD).
