Role Lead Metrology Engineer Job Title: Metrology Engineer Department: Product Development Department - AQP - Metrology Lab Key Mission: Lead and support the metrology team by establishing and executing optimal, standardized measurement solutions to maximize the utilization of CT-scan equipment and metrology resources. Deepen expertise in metrology and CT scanning technologies, collaborating closely with labs across regions to serve as a trusted partner for new product development teams. Provide accurate, timely data support and failure analysis reports to inform decision-making, while driving continuous enhancement laboratory testing capabilities. Responsibilities 1) Core Responsibilities Data-Driven Decision Support • Ensure measurement data is statistically sound, repeatable, and decision ready. • Experience with MSA, GR&R, and capability analyses to support new product and process validation with clear risk communication. Design & Manufacturing Enablement • Actively influence standard practices across all core metrology capabilities. • Provide root cause analysis and resolution guidance to tooling, manufacturing, and quality teams. Continuous Improvement & Influence • Drive measurable improvements in CT Scanning effectiveness and metrology efficiency. • Influence without authority through coaching, technical credibility, and collaboration. Cross-Functional Impact • Proactively collaborate with various Molex departments to align practices, share lessons learned, and promote proven methodologies. 2) Metrology & CT Scanning Project Management • Establish and maintain DSS standards for metrology and CT scanning. • Serve as the technical authority by owning the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of metrology and CT Scanning Operational practices. • Develop and lead Mixed-material CT metrotomography for DSS standards. • Develop and lead CT processing automation for qualification and production CT usage. • Develop and lead fixturing to DSS standards. 3) Metrology Team Efficiency Enhancement Establish and drive execution of optimal standardized measurement procedures to maximize utilization of all metrology resources-including OGP ZIP 250/Benchmark 250/CT-scan/X-Ray Microscope/Keyence 620 Ensuring 24-hour delivery of measurement reports and failure analysis reports. Expectation Qualifications 1) Experience & Education Education: Bachelor's degree or higher from a full-time program in a mechanical engineering-related field. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in precision manufacturing or automotive manufacturing metrology. 2) Technical Hard Skills Skilled in GD&T: Deep understanding of geometric tolerancing; ability to translate complex drawing datum requirements into measurement coordinate systems. Software Skills: Skilled in AutoCAD/UG. Tool Skills: Skilled in operating OGP, CMMs or equivalent equipment. Language Skills: Ability to communicate clearly in English during meetings. Bonus Qualification: Skilled in use of CT scanner. 3) Core Soft Skills Logical Reasoning: Ability to quickly determine whether data anomalies stem from measurement system issues or actual product defects.
