Role Overview
As a Senior Associate Ocean Operations, you will be the heartbeat of our sea export functions. You will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of sea shipments, ensuring that our cargo moves efficiently, cost-effectively, and in full compliance with global standards. This role requires a blend of tactical execution—communicating with logistics partner and managing bookings—and analytical thinking to drive process improvements and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Take lead in the daily capacity management and allocation planning to drive the space utilization and cost efficiency
Root cause operational challenges to eliminate concerns and drive efficiency across the organization
Work with ocean carriers on handling operational exceptions
Provide assistance in data and reporting tasks in the scope of ocean capacity management and operations
Work cross-functionally to drive an efficient, automated ocean planning & booking process
Proactively align with internal and external stakeholders on overall ocean operational performance and adherence
Work cross-functionally with stakeholders (including sales & services teams and external vendors) on designing and implementing various programs related to ocean freight
Practice continuous process improvement and innovation in creating scale
Qualifications & Skills:
5+ years of experience in Operations roles in any ocean carriers/3PL/NVO/logistics companies, or inhouse logistics team of major BCOs.
Structural and clear in communications - able to illustrate the issues/opportunities/challenges in the complex ocean operations in a clear way
Presentable - able to work with external partners (ocean carriers) on behalf of CGF in building partnerships and handling exceptions
Data-driven decision making - able to make sound decisions with the support of data, and able to justify the decision with data in the ocean operations full of ambiguity
Experience in process management - able to monitor process adherence, identify process loopholes and drive process optimization.
Preferrably possess knowledge of Google BigQuery / SQL.
