Morningstar Greater China Fund Data Team is a key component of Morningstar’s global fund data division, specializing in governing and sustaining fund data workflows covering Mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong markets. Our core responsibilities include sourcing fund legal documents, setting up new fund, as well as systematically collecting and managing critical datasets relating to fund operations, performance and investment portfolios.
The team maintains close collaboration with other overseas global data team, continuously refining data workflows to boost overall operational efficiency and service level of the fund division. We also work hand-in-hand with local product, research and business teams to align fund data governance strategies with market demands, delivering robust data infrastructure to empower investor success.
We are seeking a proactive, results-driven professional to join our Greater China Fund Data Team as a (Senior) Fund Data Analyst. This role centers on the collection and administration of fundamental fund operational data.
As a team member, you will collaborate closely with overseas counterparts to guarantee the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of fund data. We expect you to take initiative to identify and implement workflow optimization initiatives for higher productivity. You will also provide customer-facing support to consistently deliver service standards that meet client expectations.
This role is based in Shenzhen.

Data Collection & Governance Execute daily fund data collection, conduct rigorous data review and validation to deliver accurate, comprehensive information that satisfies product and client requirements.

Workflow Administration Establish, track and monitor KPIs for data collection workflows, leveraging performance metrics to streamline and elevate data management processes.

Quality & Efficiency Enhancement Proactively research and deploy workflow optimization and automation tools to refine data processing pipelines and improve overall data quality.

Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with local advisory, product, sales and other cross-functional teams to support new product and feature development, resolve client data inquiries efficiently and boost customer satisfaction.

Platform Iteration & Enhancement Proactively identify and compile enhancement requirements for the internal data platform, draft detailed functional specifications to facilitate ongoing product iteration and system optimization.

Regulatory Change Analysis Conduct in-depth analysis on new regulatory mandates and adjust fund data collection methodologies in a timely manner to ensure full compliance of all data workflows.

Bachelor’s degree or above; no restriction on academic major.

Excellent written, reading and verbal English proficiency; CET-6 or equivalent English certification is mandatory.

Advanced proficiency in SQL, VBA and Python or Vibe Coding; basic knowledge of machine learning is required.

In-depth comprehension of fund data attributes and data acquisition workflows; candidates with strong client service awareness are preferred.

Prior experience resolving client inquiries and communicating with clients for data sourcing is a plus.

Experience in cross-office / cross-team project delivery is preferred.

Solid grasp of project management principles; extensive project leadership experience is highly desirable.

Hands-on workflow management experience with familiarity in Lean Six Sigma and other process improvement methodologies is preferred.
