Director, Procurement - Global Mechanical
The role of Director, Procurement - Global Mechanical is to lead our global mechanical sourcing organization and shape the future of our supply network. This strategic leadership role is responsible for developing and executing global procurement strategies across key mechanical categories while building a competitive, resilient, and innovative supplier ecosystem across China, Asia, Europe, and other global markets.
The successful candidate will combine strong procurement expertise with proven leadership capabilities to drive cost competitiveness, supplier innovation, operational excellence, and supply continuity. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders and global leadership teams, this role will play a critical part in supporting business growth, operational performance, and long-term value creation.
Role Responsibilities:
Lead and develop the Global Mechanical Procurement organization, driving high performance across multiple regions.
Define and execute global sourcing strategies for key mechanical commodities, including machining, castings, stampings, plastics, cable assemblies, electromechanical components, and packaging.
Build and strengthen strategic supplier partnerships across China, Asia, Europe, and global markets.
Drive supplier scouting, qualification, localization, and dual-sourcing initiatives to improve supply resilience and competitiveness.
Lead commercial negotiations and deliver sustainable cost reduction, value engineering, and total cost optimization programs.
Establish robust supplier performance management processes covering cost, quality, delivery, technology, capacity, and risk.
Develop and implement supply risk mitigation and business continuity strategies to ensure uninterrupted supply.
Collaborate closely with Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to support business objectives and new product development.
Drive procurement excellence through process standardization, digital transformation, analytics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Coach, mentor, and develop global procurement talent while building organizational capability and succession pipelines.
Role Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline; Master's degree is advantageous.
Minimum 12–15 years of progressive procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management experience in multinational organizations.
At least 5–8 years of leadership experience managing regional or global procurement teams.
Professional fluency in English is essential; Mandarin Chinese proficiency is highly advantageous.
Strong expertise in mechanical sourcing categories and manufacturing processes.
Deep understanding of China and Asia supplier ecosystems, manufacturing capabilities, and market dynamics.
Proven track record of delivering cost reduction, supplier development, procurement transformation, and supply chain resilience initiatives.
Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a global matrix organization.
Demonstrated leadership capability in driving change, transformation, and continuous improvement across multiple geographies.
