About the Role:
Associate Manager, Author Success Marketing
Wiley is looking for a highly experienced and results-driven Associate Manager, Author Success Marketing to join our Author Marketing team in China. In this role, you’ll work closely with global marketing, publishing, and editorial teams to engage authors and drive open access (OA) article growth across the China market.
You’ll guide authors through every stage of their publishing journey — from initial discovery and manuscript preparation through to submission and post-publication promotion — helping ensure a smooth, supportive experience that leads to successful publication and measurable OA growth.
- Plan and execute marketing campaigns aligned to the author journey, helping position Wiley as a leading open access publisher in China
- Grow measurable OA article submissions and expand Wiley’s China-based OA author community, with a particular focus on early-career researchers
- Design subject-specific author campaigns, building audience personas and insights to target key researcher communities
- Lead or support author success and accelerator projects that lower barriers to publication and support manuscript preparation
- Apply AI and marketing automation tools to personalize content delivery and improve campaign efficiency at scale
- Identify and pilot new third-party partners and marketing channels relevant to China's research and academic communities
- Use data-driven insights and analytics to monitor, report on, and continuously optimize campaign performance
- Support Forward series journal promotion in China, including editor tour planning and localized promotional content
- Collaborate cross-functionally with editorial, publishing, and global/local marketing teams to align on shared goals
- Master’s degree required; overseas study background a plus
- 3+ years of experience in publishing or a relevant marketing field
- Solid understanding of marketing principles, including author/journal marketing, digital and social media marketing, and marketing KPIs
- Proven experience designing and managing successful marketing campaigns across multiple channels
- Experience with AI and marketing automation tools is a strong plus
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills in English
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable engaging stakeholders across cross-functional global and local teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven mindset
- Proactive, results-oriented, and able to think logically through complex challenges
- Genuine insight into and curiosity about the researcher/academic market
- Innovative mindset with a willingness to explore new marketing tactics and technologies
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Able to travel for business as needed
