About this opportunity:
As a PA Developer, you will join the PA design team in the Radio Pacific Radio Design 1 department in Beijing, working in a diverse and collaborative environment with tens of colleagues who fully cooperate to deliver cutting-edge radio solutions.
The team mainly focuses on new PA technology research and solution design for Ericsson radio products. In this role, you will apply strong RF/microwave expertise and hands-on PA hardware design skills to develop high-performance, energy-efficient PAs that strengthen our radio product competitiveness and innovation.
What you will do:
-
Contribute to new PA technology study and solution design for Ericsson radio products as part of the PA design team.
-
Design and optimize PA hardware circuits, applying solid microwave and electromagnetic field knowledge and PA theory.
-
Use RF simulation tools such as ADS, AWR, and HFSS to model, analyze, and refine PA performance.
-
Plan and conduct PA-related lab measurements using radio test instruments including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and power meters, and interpret results to guide design changes.
-
Provide PA proposals including link budget, power budget, and line-up; evaluate key components and select appropriate solutions.
Perform PA transistor internal design and related tasks to ensure optimal performance and reliability. -
Use CAD tools such as Mentor or Cadence to implement and maintain PA schematics and layouts.
-
Support broader product development activities including requirement analysis, system/architecture/hardware design, integration, verification, tools design, and documentation support as needed.
-
Continuously learn and research up-to-date PA and radio technologies, contributing to innovation and knowledge sharing across the team.
The skills you bring:
-
M.S. degree or above in Microwave engineering, wireless communication, RF/microwave electronics, or an equivalent major.
-
More than 3 years’ working experience in PA hardware design for communication or radio products.
-
Solid knowledge of microwave and electromagnetic field theory, with strong understanding of PA theory and techniques used in communication systems.
-
Proven ability to provide PA proposals, including link budget, power budget, and line-up, and to evaluate and select key components for PA designs.
-
Experience in PA transistor internal design and practical implementation.
-
Familiarity with radio test instruments such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and power meters, and experience using them for PA validation.
-
Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g. Mentor Graphics, Cadence) and RF simulation tools (ADS, AWR, HFSS) for schematic/layout and performance analysis.
-
Strong ability to learn new techniques and willingness to research up-to-date technologies, combined with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
-
Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with cross-functional product development teams (system, hardware, test, etc.).
