Portfolio Product Manager
Role Purpose
We are looking for a strategic and commercially minded Portfolio Product Manager to drive the growth, profitability, and long-term development of our industrial sensor product portfolio in China.
In this highly visible role, you will serve as the bridge between market needs, customer challenges, sales strategy, and product innovation. You will be responsible for shaping product roadmaps, identifying new business opportunities, driving product lifecycle management, and ensuring the portfolio remains competitive, profitable, and aligned with both local market demands and corporate growth objectives.
Working closely with Sales, R&D, Marketing, and Global Product Management teams, you will play a critical role in transforming market insights into successful products and sustainable business growth.
Role Responsibilities:
Develop and execute portfolio strategies, product roadmaps, and business plans that support long-term growth objectives and align with market opportunities.
Conduct in-depth market research, customer analysis, and competitive intelligence to identify emerging trends, unmet customer needs, and new product opportunities.
Translate market insights into product concepts, business cases, product requirements, and investment proposals to support future product development initiatives.
Lead the lifecycle management of assigned product portfolios, including product launches, enhancements, redesigns, portfolio optimization, and end-of-life planning.
Partner closely with R&D and Technical Product Management teams to define development priorities and ensure successful delivery of innovative product solutions.
Drive profitability improvement initiatives through pricing strategies, portfolio optimization, quality enhancement, and contribution margin improvement programs.
Collaborate with Sales teams to support customer engagement activities, product positioning, technical training, and business development initiatives.
Develop and execute go-to-market strategies, product marketing plans, product presentations, and customer-facing promotional materials.
Forecast demand for new product introductions and work closely with Supply Chain and Operations teams to support effective production planning and inventory management.
Monitor product performance, market share, sales growth, profitability, and competitive positioning, implementing corrective actions and growth initiatives where required.
Role Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation, Business Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Product Management, Product Development, Portfolio Management, or Business Development within industrial technology sectors.
Proven experience managing products throughout the complete lifecycle, from concept development and business case creation through commercialization and phase-out.
Strong understanding of industrial automation, industrial sensors, electronics, manufacturing technologies, or related technical products.
Demonstrated ability to conduct market analysis, competitive assessments, customer research, and strategic portfolio planning.
Commercially driven with strong business acumen and experience evaluating sales performance, profitability, ROI, and market opportunities.
Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to translate market insights into actionable business strategies.
Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and influencing skills, with experience engaging customers and cross-functional teams.
Fluent Mandarin Chinese and strong English communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively in an international business environment.
Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities while driving initiatives independently in a fast-paced and dynamic market environment.
