CastleGate Forwarding (CGF) is a rapidly growing freight forwarding start-up within Wayfair, moving containers across the globe to Wayfair’s shelves and elsewhere. Position Description
The Origin Ops team operates within CGF Asia Operations and is responsible for overseeing freight flow activities managed through our Asia Origin agent network, Origin processes, documentation management, capacity and carrier management.
The role primarily involves providing essential support for the day-to-day freight flow operations to/from our CFSs. This includes managing inbound orders, overseeing Origin agents, monitoring supplier and shipper performance, as well as conducting thorough analysis. The goal is to ensure the accurate and timely handling of all orders. Concurrently, the role will investigate root causes of any issues through data analysis, aiming to mitigate exceptions and discrepancies effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Own day-to-day CFS warehouse operations across Asia, coordinate with vendors/3PLs to ensure seamless in warehouse operations.
Manage and supervise Asia CFS vendors/3PLs; monitor daily operational performance and ensure compliance with SLAs and KPIs.
Conduct weekly/monthly alignment meetings with vendors to identify demands, risks and improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize freight operations and resolve any operational issues.
Timely identify, track and resolve order discrepancies, booking exceptions and warehouse operational issues.
Conduct root cause analysis to mitigate repeated exceptions and ensure business continuity.
Generate reports and dashboards to communicate performance; collect feedback and drive operational optimization.
Required Experience/Skills
Possession of a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, international trade, Operations Research, Economics, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a directly related field, coupled with analytical or consulting role experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adept at managing multiple stakeholders.
Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Suite and adeptness in working with data.
Strong multitasking skills, detail-oriented nature with a focus on accuracy, and ability to manage and prioritize concurrent projects.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred or plus
Background in vendor management majors or prior experience in international logistics.
Familiarity with Google BigQuery.
Experience in working with global teams and external partners.
