Objectives:
Build up and continuously optimise RD project quotation / cost assessment model for vehicle projects based on solid hardware and software engineering understanding, e.g., ADAS / smart cockpit / etc., in terms of RoI based on input from sales / carline / PS / etc. Be responsible for RD project evaluation based on the assessment model to drive project initialization decisions.
1. Lead the function of BC estimation during project initiation phase, integrate HW and SW development investment (incl. licensing fees, chip/sensor BOM, OTA maintenance costs) and internal engineering cost (incl. function teams), with support of sales assumptions, and pricing strategies, and provide ROI analysis
2. Lead multi-scenario analysis on key variables of intelligent projects (chip procurement cost, software licensing model, penetration rate assumptions) to quantify the impact of major risks on project returns
3. Support assessment of technical requirements to deliver hardware architecture, system architecture, mechanical concept, component packaging, vehicle interface connectors, etc.
4. Lead project BC reviews and management confirmation, incl. HW / SW solution feasibility and quotation / cost evaluation
5. After project approval decisions, hand over the approved budget baseline and financial assumptions to the executing finance team to ensure consistent data coverage before and after project initialisation
6. Financial Model Construction and Maintenance: Be responsible for building and managing the financial model for R&D projects (intelligent driving, smart cockpit, in-vehicle software, etc.) and establishing standardized evaluation templates
