Who We Are Looking For State Street Investment Management is looking for a senior Business Analyst, Assistance Vice President for our China office, as part of the Information Technology organization.
This position will serve as a senior business analysis lead, driving strategic initiatives and end-to-end solution delivery across Investment Management Product applications and platforms. The role will partner closely with global business leaders, product owners, and technology teams to shape roadmaps, define business capabilities, and deliver scalable solutions that enhance operational effectiveness, strengthen risk and control frameworks, and support the organization’s strategic objectives.
The successful candidate will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, lead complex cross-functional workstreams, influence stakeholders across regions, and translate evolving business priorities into actionable strategies.
In addition, this position will take people management responsibilities to lead and develop a team of business analysts, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, providing coaching and career development support, and building a high-performing culture aligned with business priorities.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Lead and drive business analysis activities for Investment Product applications, independently driving requirement capture, analysis, prioritization, and documentation to support strategic and operational initiatives.
- Partner directly with global business stakeholders (e.g., Global Funds Management, Digital Marketing) to shape business strategies, define target-state capabilities, challenge assumptions, and translate objectives into actionable roadmaps and delivery outcomes.
- Provide leadership throughout the solution lifecycle, guiding requirement definition, prioritization, solution design, implementation planning, and change management to ensure successful delivery of business value.
- Manage and develop a team of Business Analysts, providing coaching, career development, and day-to-day leadership to build a high-performing organization with strong domain expertise, delivery discipline, and AI-enabled capabilities.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability by establishing best practices, driving knowledge sharing, and promoting the adoption of modern analysis techniques, automation, and AI-driven solutions.
- Own the delivery and operational health of strategic platforms such as ssga.com, Global Funds Management solutions, and related digital capabilities, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
- Provide leadership for Business-as-Usual (BAU) support activities, ensuring effective issue management, stakeholder communications, prioritization, and resolution of production and operational challenges.
- Drive business process optimization and operational excellence initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, reduce risk, and enhance the user experience across key business processes.
- Proactively identify and manage risks, dependencies, and control considerations, escalating issues appropriately and partnering with Risk, Compliance, and Audit stakeholders to maintain a strong control environment.
- Support workforce planning, talent acquisition, and organizational development efforts, helping build a sustainable talent pipeline and ensuring the team possesses the skills required to support future business priorities, including AI-driven innovation and digital transformation.

Education & Preferred Qualifications/Skills
- 8+ years of experience in business analysis, asset management, financial services, digital transformation, or technology-enabled business roles, with a proven track record of leading complex initiatives and delivering business outcomes in a global environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading business analysis and solution delivery teams, including requirements strategy, business process transformation, testing oversight, implementation planning, and operational readiness for large-scale business and technology initiatives.
- Strong understanding of asset management business processes, operating models, and technology ecosystems, with hands-on experience supporting applications and platforms across investment products, distribution, client servicing, fund management, or digital capabilities.
- Deep knowledge of software development methodologies, systems integration, and enterprise architecture concepts, including APIs, web services, event-driven architectures, data integration patterns, and cloud-based solutions.
- Experience partnering with senior business and technology stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps, prioritize investments, manage competing priorities, and drive execution across globally distributed teams.
- Proven people management experience, including team leadership, coaching, talent development, performance management, succession planning, and building high-performing, diverse teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, evaluate trade-offs, and drive practical, business-focused solutions.
- Experience leveraging data and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or similar platforms to support business insights, decision-making, and operational improvements.
- Proficiency with Agile delivery frameworks and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or equivalent platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence executive stakeholders, facilitate alignment, and communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience driving digital transformation, process automation, AI adoption, or data-driven business initiatives is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of User Experience (UX), user-centered design principles, and digital platform strategy is considered a strong advantage.
