- Participate in the review of product requirements specification based on input from marketing and customers;
- Investigate and analyze new materials and their appropriate use within our product line; e.g. on contact material
- Support other projects in CPC with material expertise in specification and sourcing efforts (from R&D side)
- Participate in design reviews and other team development processes;
- Following the product spec, design, development new and innovative products;
- Conduct testing of all new products in accordance with related standards and customer requirements;
- Complete appropriate technical documentation;
- Work with industrial team to support production line set up;
- Launch new product line extensions following a stage-gate process (i.e., PROLaunch) ;
- Review and conduct computer-based FEA & FMEA analysis on new products to ensure their integrity and use the results to modify designs;
- Keep abreast of new and emerging technologies and materials and uses computer software tools to design and analyze product integrity to facilitate rapid deployment;
- Extensive materials knowledge with emphasis on plastic injection molding and metal stamping;
- Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with all other team, manage mechanical resources to support all product development for all CPCD projects;
- Participate in new product and technology development trend thinking and review;
- Perform other duties as assigned;
- Bachelor’s Degree and above in Mechanical Engineering, prefer master
- 7 or more years experience in new product development in electromechanical systems, low voltage field prefered;
- Rich experience in components design and material selection, like metal, nonferrous fields;
- Expert in low voltage component product design, specially MCCB & ACB products design (priority to MCCB);
- Rich knowledge material property and applicaton, especially Ag contact and brazed material design;
- Proven history of designing and executing new product development programs;
- Must be an expert in the use of Pro-E, AutoCAD or other software design tools;
- Have knowledge on FEA/FMEA simulation, some experience prefered;
- Experience in utilizing DFSS method to solve technical issues, as well as customer application problem;
- Good understanding of commercial markets and the environmental requirements and related qualification testing required;
- Extensive knowledge of a wide variety of low voltage system applicaiton;"
- Good communication skill, fluent English both in written and oral;
- Strong team work spirit;
- Open attitiude to coach young engineers
