Tianjin Juilliard’s Public Education serves students from different age groups, professional levels, backgrounds and experiences. Our exciting and innovative music programs and projects exemplify Tianjin Juilliard’s educational values and approach to developing well-rounded musicians and music learners.
The Public Education Division offers a course for children ages 6-12 years old, combining English language and musical topics.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The course will be taught bilingually, in a combination of in-person and online delivery which will vary by TJS.
Additional responsibilities
- Participate in training session from Tianjin Juilliard coaches, as necessary
- Learn the course curriculum and deliver the lessons in a fun and engaging way
- Work closely with TJS program coordinators to understand course goals and objectives, and learn TJSculture of learning
- Work closely with the staff of the partner schools to ensure smooth delivery of the lessons
- Observe students in class, offer feedback, and assess quality of their participation
QUALIFICATION
- A minimum of bachelor’s degree in Music and/or English; TESOL certification preferred
- A strong background and interest in classical music
- Minimum of 3 years of classroom teaching experience with young children
- Chinese citizens with strong to native English; graduates of overseas universities preferred
- Ability to balance professional demeanor with fun and energetic personality
- Ability to travel for in-person teaching on weekend
- Comfort with technology and learning new software
