YOUR ROLE
In this role, you will be responsible for the development of photonic foundry ecosystem in China including both Leading vertical module players, Hyperscalers and Independent Design Houses, based on established Silicon Photonics and BiCMOS PDKs. You will also interact with Fab Process Integration Engineer, Division and Fab Operation and quality teams to assist in the overall development of photonic systems, specifying, selecting, and qualifying the various components necessary.
- Expert in high-performance photonics devices suitable for high-volume manufacturing for AI/Data Center Optical transceivers PIC/EIC and Optical Electronics Engine for XPO and OIO
- Comprehensive understanding photonics and BiCMOS technology trend, hybrid integration of III-V and TFLN into photonics platform, benchmark and value proposition of ST technologies vs competition
- Actively collaborate across disciplines, with Fab Device, Division Program Management, Operation, quality and planning teams to tape-out products and characterization devices.
- Work with the photonics customers in defining short term product, middle term research program in term of requirements for device characterization, debug and validation
- Works on broader organizational projects that require a thorough understanding of photonics and BiCMOS as well as advanced packaging
- Analyze characterization data to ensure the device/system meets the specifications
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
- M.S./Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics or similar disciplines
- 8 years and a Master’s degree; PhD with 5 years’ experience; or equivalent experience
- In-depth knowledge of photonic devices and their modeling algorithms:waveguides, couplers, photodetectors, electro-optic modulators, micro-ring resonators
- Proficiency with photonic simulation tools such Ansys FDTD, Tidy3D
- Experience with PDK and Cadence environments
- Self-driven, excellent problem solving and analytical skills, good communication skills and a strong team player.
- Local and international travel may be required.
