E-Bike HMI Engineer (Shenzhen, China)
We are seeking an e-Bike HMI Engineer to support the development and industrialization of our HMI (Human Machine Interface) systems. This position combines onsite engineering support at our HMI suppliers with market intelligence and supplier research across China.
This role is ideal for an engineer with experience in embedded systems, PCB design, firmware, or HMI-related components who wants to work closely with suppliers and the HMI Team.
Role Overview
In this role, you will act as a key technical interface between our global HMI Engineering team and our HMI suppliers in China.
You will support HMI development, validation, issue resolution, certifications, and supplier execution while ensuring alignment with our technical requirements and timelines.
You will work closely with the Swiss R&D team on analysis, documentation, testing feedback, and technology evaluation, contributing directly to the quality and performance of our HMI systems.
Key Responsibilities
On-Site at HMI Suppliers

Support development of HMI components (displays, remotes, connectivity/control units)

Follow up on technical issues, deviations, and corrective actions

Support debugging and root cause analysis directly at supplier site when needed

Identify and report improvement opportunities in supplier design, implementation and production, such as:

Stability and robustness issues
-
Integration inconsistencies
-
Production or quality weaknesses
-
Verify compliance with technical specifications, interface definitions, and performance targets
HMI Development & System Integration Support

Support HMI system integration into full e-Bike platforms
-
Contribute to testing and validation (functional, usability, robustness)

Support analysis of test results and feedback into improvements

Collaborate closely with Swiss R&D team to:

Provide insights from supplier activities and testing

Support issue investigation and resolution

Assist in improving requirements and documentation

Support field issue analysis and feedback loops to development and suppliers

Contribute to evaluation of new HMI technologies and suppliers in China

HMI components and architectures

Connectivity and interaction technologies

Provide market and supplier insights to support future development decisions
Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field

Several years of experience in:

Embedded systems, firmware, or HMI-related development

Consumer electronics, automotive, or similar industries
-
Solid understanding of:

Embedded systems and firmware behavior

Communication protocols (e.g., CAN, BLE)

Hardware-software interaction
-
Experience working with suppliers or in industrialized product environments

Strong English communication skills
-
International work experience is a plus
