We are seeking a qualified and motivated Process Engineer to join our team in Shenzhen, China to support manufacturing operations at our contract manufacturing (CM) partner site.

In This role you will be responsible for driving process excellence, monitoring production performance, process development and ensuring compliance with company standards for quality, efficiency, and process consistency. The suitable candidate will serve as the technical interface between the CM team and our engineering team; facilitating effective communication, resolving issues, and driving continuous process improvement.
Requirements:
Required previous experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a Process Development Engineer in a manufacturing environment or R&D organization, preferably within the Optical devices manufacturing industry.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and intercultural skills.
- Experience in Active Alignment and Die Bonding manufacturing processes.
- Experience in Silicon photonics device packaging – an advantage.
- Experience in conducting failure analysis investigations and designing experiments to identify failure root cause and implement corrective actions.
Required Skills:
- Fluent in written and spoken English, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information and collaborate with internal teams and external manufacturing partners.
- Manufacturing and Data Analysis: Statistics, DOE, JMP
- Python/MATLAB/LabVIEW – an advantage.
- Silicon fabrication processes - an advantage
Education:
- Degree in Engineering or Physics
Responsibilities:
- Oversee production operations at the contract manufacturing site to ensure compliance with process standards and product specifications.
- Lead the implementation of Yield improvement activities and production capacity scale up.
- Monitor production KPIs, identify process deviations, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with the contract manufacturer to implement and sustain process improvements.
- Serve as the technical point of contact between the contract manufacturer and the headquarters team.
- Conduct audits, process validations, and risk assessments as required.
- Support knowledge transfer, documentation, and training related to new or revised processes.
