Basic Job Information
- Position: Sales Manager
- Reporting Line: Report to Sales Director
- Location: Beijing
- Role Overview: Responsible for customer retention, subscription renewal and new business development in designated territories, achieve individual sales targets, and drive market growth of the company’s academic databases, journals, books, AI tools, and other products and services.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the full customer lifecycle in designated territories, maintain relationships with universities, research institutes, corporate and government clients, ensure customer satisfaction and retention rate, and deliver annual subscription renewal targets.
- Develop new customers in assigned territories, identify potential customer needs, expand sales opportunities, drive upselling, cross-selling and new contract signings, and achieve individual annual sales targets.
- Independently maintain and update the personal sales pipeline in a timely manner, accurately record customer follow-up progress and sales data, and regularly report sales progress to ensure complete and traceable information.
- Be responsible for the sales and promotion of database products in computing sciences, engineering, business and economics, as well as resources from corresponding publishers, and support internal and external training related to these products.
- Assist the Sales Director with negotiation preparation, document sorting and follow-up implementation for DRAA and other key academic consortia.
- Track market trends, industrial policies and competitor information related to Open Access (OA), and compile and feedback market insights to the supervisor regularly.
- Proactively attend industry conferences and academic events in relevant disciplines such as medical sciences and agriculture, expand industry resources, identify sales leads, and enhance the company’s brand influence in corresponding fields.
- Follow up the full process of customer orders and contracts, coordinate with internal teams to ensure service delivery, track payment collection, manage customer credit risks, and complete the sales closed loop.
- Carry out other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements and Skills
Basic Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree or higher, with strong problem-solving skills.
2. At least 3 years of relevant B2B sales experience, including experience in key account management or institutional client development.
3. Good English reading and writing skills; able to read English product materials and compose routine business emails with ease.
4. Strong self-motivation and goal-oriented mindset; strong learning ability; capable of quickly mastering specialized product knowledge.
5. Possess strong communication and presentation skills, a customer-service mindset, and a team-oriented spirit; able to handle the performance pressure associated with a sales role.
6. Report sales progress regularly and complete pipeline reports on time.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Candidates with experience in academic publishing or the STM industry.
2. Candidates with existing client networks in universities, research institutes, libraries, or corporate R&D departments.
3. Candidates with experience working with consortia such as DRAA.
4. Familiarity with various AI tools. Preference will be given to candidates with experience selling AI products.
5. Candidates who are fluent in spoken English and can use it as a working language.

- 岗位概述:负责指定区域内的客户维护、订阅续订与新业务拓展,达成个人销售目标,推动公司学术数据库、期刊、图书、AI等产品与服务的市场增长。
工作职责
- 负责指定区域内的客户全生命周期管理,维护高校、科研院所、企业及政府机构客户关系,保障客户满意度与留存率,完成年度订阅续订指标。
- 负责指定区域的新客户开发,挖掘潜在客户需求,拓展销售机会,推进增购、交叉销售与新签合作,达成个人年度销售目标。
- 自主维护并及时更新个人销售漏斗(Pipeline),准确记录客户跟进进度与销售数据,定期同步销售进展,确保信息完整可追溯。
- 负责计算机科学、工程、商业经济等学科领域的数据库产品及对应出版社资源的销售推广,配合完成相关产品的内外部培训支持工作。
- 协助销售总监参与 DRAA 及其他核心学术联盟的谈判筹备、资料整理与后续落地执行工作。
- 跟踪开放获取(OA)领域的市场动态、行业政策与竞品信息,定期整理并向上级反馈市场洞察。
- 主动参加医学、农学等相关学科的行业会议与学术活动,拓展行业资源,挖掘销售线索,提升公司品牌在对应领域的影响力。
- 负责客户订单、合同的全流程跟进,协同内部团队保障服务交付,跟进回款流程,管控客户信用风险,完成销售闭环。
- 完成上级交办的其他相关工作。
任职要求
基本要求
- 本科及以上学历,专业不限。有较强的问题解决能力。
- 具备3年及以上 B2B 销售相关工作经验,有大客户维护或机构客户开发经验。
- 具备良好的英语读写能力,可熟练阅读英文产品资料、撰写日常商务邮件。
- 具备较强的自我驱动力与目标感,学习能力强,能够快速掌握专业产品知识。
- 具备良好的沟通表达能力与客户服务意识,有团队协作精神,能够承受销售岗位的业绩压力。
- 定期汇报销售进展,并按时完成Pipeline reports。
优先条件
- 有学术出版、STM行业从业经验者优先。
- 有高校、科研院所、图书馆或企业研发端客户资源者优先。
- 有DRAA等联盟工作经验者优先。
- 熟悉各种AI工具。有AI产品销售经历者优先。
- 英语口语流利,可作为工作语言者优先。
