Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Conduct spending analysis and develop sourcing strategies or negotiation plans based on data-driven insights, business needs and market intelligence.
Initiate and execute sourcing projects across regions and teams.
Lead negotiations with suppliers covering annual pricing, rebates, contracts, and new projects.
Manage cost reduction activities, including savings, Excess cost and Mitigation.
Manage suppliers, maintain good supplier relationships, lead supplier relationship maintenance activities including Annual audits, Quarterly Business Review and other assigned actions.
Collaborate cross-functionally to develop 2nd source solutions for managed material, mitigate supply risks, and continuously deliver cost reductions.
Lead new supplier qualification activities and support new product development initiatives.
Manage contracts and non-disclosure agreements.
Support non-glass inventory reduction through multiple solutions, including consignment, Vendor Managed Inventory, and inventory resale.
Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at each site and fulfill business requirements effectively. Support cross-functional teams to resolve daily operation issues (Purchase order, delivery, quality, etc.)
Support external projects led by cross-functional teams based on business requirements, including Quality team, Engineering, and plant procurement team’s initiatives.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or above.
Minimum 2 years working experience in procurement.
Familiarity with MRO parts brands and category, related Procurment processes and tools.
Required Skills
Ability to obtain and analyze spend data, market intelligence and total cost model.
Knowledge of supplier management and supplier audit practices.
Capability to initiate sourcing projects with clear business benefits and strong project management skills.
Solid knowledge of purchasing principles including Incoterms, VMI/consignment process, On-time delivery rate, MRO replenishment process, etc.
Contract management skills and strong business writing proficiency.
Understand end-to-end procurement process from source-to-pay.
Proficiency in MS Office and the SAP procurement module.
Reporting and Prestation skills.
Fluency spoken and written in English.
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to daily sourcing activities.
Ability to lead and motivate project teams to achieve the goals.
