This means driving speed and availability through inventory and position strategies with suppliers leveraging Wayfair’s fulfillment services (CastleGate) as well as suppliers’ own supply chain capacities.
Availability strategy is at the forefront of building an innovative, scale-able business strategy for Wayfair to support business growth. You will develop insights to influence suppliers’ product assortment, production, supply chain and operations. Other focus areas include financial analysis to support decision-making related to inventory levels, managing excess inventory, promotional inventory planning, and improving overall inventory efficiency.
We are looking for highly-motivated individuals to partner with suppliers to grow their business with Wayfair - with a focus on availability, inventory turns, and forward positioning.
What You'll Do
Lead a dedicated team to engage our most valuable supplier relationships on ecommerce strategies, demand planning, and transformational supply chain projects including setting the portfolio management strategy for accounts your team manages.
Develop and execute strategies to optimize sales, turns, in-stock rates, and network balance
Communicate with suppliers to ensure follow-through on replenishment orders and inventory commitments and to develop sustainable, long-term strategies to grow the business
Set and monitor key performance indicators and drive corrective actions with suppliers, your team and cross-functional partners
Work cross-functionally with a variety of teams including Analytics, Category Management, and Forecasting to understand sales and market trends in your space impacting forecasts
Create plans for replenishment orders or sell-through actions reflective of supplier goals
Manage efficient inbound inventory flows and health, including forecasting, purchasing, and removing aged inventory
Align Wayfair teams (Operations, Promotions, Category Management) to ensure strong supplier execution and to understand and manage the demand drivers impacting growth
Lead initiatives to drive improvements in the Inventory Planning systems, data, and processes
Drive root cause analysis/reporting on inventory related issues, developing action plans and Project managing improvements
Conduct ad hoc analysis (financial and operational) using standard scripts and reporting to access data and/or Excel to drive supplier action and support decisions
Regularly communicate performance trends and improvement opportunities to senior management and leadership both within and outside your immediate line of reporting
What You'll Need
Bachelor’s degree in Business, or a Supply Chain/Operations discipline
5+ years of experience in operations, retail, engineering, consulting, strategy or finance
An MBA or demonstrated experience across multiple business units a plus
Experience with Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to identify the most impactful metrics and keep a team focused on these priorities in an environment of competing alternatives
An entrepreneurial spirit and mindset; you must be adaptable and comfortable with change
Team-first attitude with enthusiasm for cross-functional collaboration
