MISSION

Commodity buyer's mission is:
Evaluate Battery supplier market (for Cells, Mechanical parts, Battery Management Systems, Wiring Harnesses)
Create and implement a strategy for a given product portfolio.
Develop robust suppliers’ panel.
Establish contracts
Support Sales and project teams to have most cost-effective solutions to gain business
Manage supplier risks
Develop business plans
Ensure proper supplier management in accordance with the industry’s standards
Track and achieve yearly objectives within given timeline.
Support Cross functional teams (Supply chain, Program buyers supplier quality)
To develop in depth knowledge of their commodity’s market and cost structure
Responsibilities & Activities
Outline the key areas of responsibility for this position, including the related activities and eventual authorities
SUPPLY BASE MANAGEMENT
Design, implement and present commodity strategies
Create and maintain close contact with different departments (Project, development, quality, legal, finance)
Develop global and robust suppliers’ panel according to automotive standards
Build cost models
Conduct suppliers’ capability studies by performing on-sight evaluation audits with development and quality team
Communicate Business plan with suppliers
CONTRACT IMPLEMENTATION
Negotiate and deploy standard agreements with core suppliers
Ensure that contractual conditions and group procedures are well applied and respected by suppliers as well by project teams Support group objectives in terms of savings and cash flow improvement
TRANSVERSAL PROJECTS MANAGEMENT
Capacity management
Transversal RFQ management (including sourcing, RFQ process, negotiation, nomination, validation follow up etc)
SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT
Performance and scorecard follow up with suppliers (including action plan management)
Supplier requests for change management
Support project buyers to obtain best economic conditions
Problem solving and look for alternative solutions
Integrated Management System (IMS)

As a manager, he /she ensures that, his/her team is informed and trained about Quality, Safety and Environment requirements and respects the related rules. He/She is accountable for the IMS process management within his perimeter of responsibility.
MACO, Region Leadership Teams, Plant Managers:
Within his /her scope of responsibility, he/she demonstrates leadership and commitment in respect of the IMS, He/she ensures that standards, processes, procedures, and objectives are updated in line with requirements and opportunely deployed within the organization making available the necessary resources.
Must have knowledge of the "Quality system, Process Approach and Continuous Improvement" procedure, Updates the score card indicators and manages the "Process performance reviews" (i.e. RPP), for the processes defined in the "KPI matrix”
Leadership in promoting the use of Process Approach and Risk based thinking by implementing the Integrated Management System through his/her process
Quality
Compliance with internal PO division CES procedures including INPRO
Must know the specific customer requirements (i.e. CSR, Customer Specific Requirement) for the projects assigned to him
Must understand the impact of its activity on the achievement of quality objectives (products and services), and understand the potential risks induced by non-compliance of designed products delivered by PO division CES to customers.

Environmental and Energy Safety
The function is performed in compliance with the HS2E provisions and rules established for his area of responsibility.
Occasional wear: safety shoes and various IPE from the workstation concerned in the laboratories.

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Personal Background
Master Degree (+ 5 years ) in purchasing or engineering
5-years’ experience in purchasing area (preferably in the automotive sector) or relevant.
Job Technical skill
Strong knowledge of EV and battery cells market
Having adaptability on multicultural and cross-departmental relations and team spirits
Fluency in foreign language(s) business level, English
Strong negotiator
Strong organizational skills and prioritize tasks to meet department objectives with timely manner.
Complete multiple activities concurrently.
Understand products development (project/program) process
Application of Quality Standards: respect internal processes (INPro, INChange…) controlled documents
Knowledge and respect of internal deliverables for his/her function and customer specific requirements (I.E. CSR, Customer Specific Requirement) for his/her projects
Understand of his activity impact on quality (components & services), and understand the risks linked to non-conformity of PO delivered components
