Introduction
We are looking for a highly motivated Sr. Project Manager to join our growing Automotive team and lead in-vehicle navigation and connected services projects for global OEM customers. As a Sr. Project Manager, you will be responsible for driving complex, multi-site software projects from RFQ/RFI to SOP and post-launch enhancements, ensuring alignment with both Telenav and OEM strategies. Working closely with customers and Telenav’s internal teams, you will leverage your experience in highly scalable systems and automotive software processes to deliver production-grade solutions to millions of vehicles worldwide.

Description
As a Sr. Project Manager at Telenav, you will work closely with external OEM customers and internal cross-functional departments, focusing on initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and closing multiple projects that support the company vision and strategy. You will own key program outcomes, including scope, schedule, cost, and quality, and act as a primary interface for critical decision-making with OEM stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Fully understand OEM customer milestones and program plans, and develop integrated Telenav project schedules to meet key gates such as RFQ, design reviews, SOP, and OTA releases.

Lead cross-functional teams (product, development, test, operations, delivery) across sites and time zones to achieve project objectives on time, within budget, and with agreed quality targets.

Own overall scope, schedule, and cost commitments; drive trade-off decisions together with product, engineering, and OEM stakeholders when changes occur.

Correctly manage scope changes and related effort estimations, ensuring impact on timing, cost, and quality is clearly assessed, communicated, and approved.

Ensure permanent alignment between all project team members, considering that teams may be distributed across different continents and cultures.

Ensure project execution aligns with OEM processes and relevant automotive quality standards (e.g. ASPICE) with support from domain experts.

Mentor and support team members in correctly employing agreed frameworks (e.g. Scrum) and using day-to-day project management tools (e.g. JIRA) based on best practices.

Guide teams towards a self-organizing, independent mindset while maintaining transparency on risks, issues, and dependencies.

Prepare and present clear, concise project status, risk, and mitigation plans to steering committees, internal leadership, and OEM customers to enable timely decisions at different management levels.

Build and maintain positive professional relationships with clients and associates, acting as a trusted partner for key OEM stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Experience working with globally distributed teams, with fluent English communication skills (written and spoken).

Experience with SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) process in software or automotive-related projects.

Minimum 5 years of relevant and proven work experience in project management, ideally including automotive or embedded software projects for OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.

Experience with project management tools, especially JIRA, and the best practices established around it for tracking scope, backlog, and releases.

Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.

Strong planning and organizing skills with analytical and critical thinking, able to manage multiple projects or workstreams in parallel.

Notes: Knowledge of ASPICE (Automotive Software Process) is a strong plus but not a must.
