Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Scope of the Position:
- Oversee the end-to-end logistics operations of the company, including transportation, warehousing, shipment coordination, and distribution activities. This position ensures that materials and finished goods are moved efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively to support business operations and customer requirements.
- The role includes managing logistics service providers, monitoring delivery performance, controlling transportation costs, and improving logistics processes. The Logistics Manager works closely with internal departments such as supply chain, warehouse, procurement, customer service, and finance to ensure smooth operational flow and high service levels.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Develop and improve logistics processes to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Manage daily logistics operations including transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities
- Plan and coordinate shipments to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
- Monitor inventory movement and support efficient material flow across the supply chain
- Work closely with warehouse, procurement, planning, customer service, and other internal teams
- Manage relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, transport providers, and logistics partners
- Track shipments and resolve delivery, transportation, or customs-related issues
- Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, company policies, and safety standards
- Analyze logistics performance and identify opportunities for improvement in cost, service, and efficiency
- Prepare logistics reports, KPIs, and operational updates for management
- Support budgeting and cost control for transportation and logistics activities
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse, or supply chain operations
- Strong experience in import and export logistics operations
- Good knowledge of international shipping procedures, customs clearance, and trade compliance
- Experience handling shipping documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and customs documents
- Understanding of Incoterms, freight terms, and international transportation modes
- Ability to coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping lines, and transport providers
- Experience working with logistics providers, carriers, and freight management
- Knowledge of ERP systems, logistics software, and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
