Main Responsibilities:

Manages the Quality Assurance department, establishes and operates within the department budget, hires, trains, assigns work, appraises performance and recommends salary adjustments for reporting employees.

Implements procedures for inspection, disposition and record retention for incoming raw materials and components and reviews quality problems with vendors. Provides supplier surveillance assistance as required.

Maintains a system for calibrating all key inspection, gaging and process instruments. Approves purchase and repair of inspection and gaging equipment. Works with vendors to improve inspection techniques and equipment.

Leads and promotes the quality assurance philosophy including preventive quality systems.

Be proactively involved in corrective, preventive action and problem-solving strategies. Collaborates with operations team on analysis and recommendations for improvements.

Supports continuous improvements in manufacturing processes and systems.

Responsible for measurement of cost of non-conformance. Publishes regular reports and identified trends.

Coordinates regular management meetings to review corrective action and quality systems. Publishes agenda and minutes in a timely manner.

Interfaces with customers to identify requirements and plan proactively for corrective action and continuous improvement.

Provides, secures and maintains data collections and statistical systems to aid in process control, root cause problem identification.

Responsible for ensuring compliance with AS 9100, IATF16949 and Nadcap requirements.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent. Six Sigma Certification is a plus.
